Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles struck energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area came under intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were wounded.

The attacks come after evenings of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
